Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026
This page describes what ChristmasCountdown.io actually does with data today, based on how the site is built rather than on what a template policy usually says. If something here is unclear, write to us through the contact page.
Data kept in your browser only
The countdowns read your device clock in your browser and calculate the remaining time locally. Small preferences such as the snow toggle and progress inside interactive tools like the checklist are written to your browser storage (localStorage) on your own device. That data is not transmitted to our servers, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Data you send us through a form
Four forms on this site submit data to our own backend, and only when you choose to submit them. Each one stores exactly the fields listed below, plus the time the record was created.
- Newsletter signup: your email address and the page you signed up from.
- Free planner / lead magnet signup: your email address and which download or page the request came from.
- Contact form: your name, email address and message.
- Advertising inquiry: your name, email address, your message and what you are interested in, plus company name and website if you fill those optional fields in.
We use these records for one purpose each: to reply to you, to keep your address for the newsletter or resource you asked for, or to discuss an advertising inquiry. Automated newsletter and download delivery is not active yet, so signing up stores your address rather than sending you anything. We do not sell them and we do not send them to an advertising network. They are stored in our hosted database, which is operated by our backend provider on our behalf.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
This site's own code currently sets no analytics or advertising cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or tracking script. There is no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, AdSense, Meta Pixel or similar SDK in the published site. Some pages reserve visible space for future advertising and link to our advertising page, but that reserved space is house promotion and does not load third-party code.
Our hosting provider processes ordinary web request data, such as your IP address, in order to serve pages and protect the service. If we later add analytics, advertising or affiliate integrations, we will update this page and the cookie policy first, and add a consent notice where that applies.
External links
We link to outside sources such as museums, postal services and reference material. Once you follow a link you are on that site and its own privacy practices apply.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us through the contact page from the address you used, and we will confirm once it is done. We are a small editorial site and we do not claim any formal privacy certification.
